oh hi blog, ltns
forgot about this for awhile.
at least never thought about it enough to update it.
I'm really glad to be back in IOWA for winter break.
Get to see bestie ereday and just sit around and not work.
So far I've made two puzzles, gone jogging like three times,
played the violin some, learned some basics on the guitar,
discovered my love of bananagrams, remembered exactly
how fun driving is, made a new friend named alex and a new
best friend named bert, renewed driver's license!, accomplished
other things while having only gotten up before noon like two days.
I got some new favorite songs, most of them by tswift or matt and kim.
right now I'm awake because the house is getting cleaned
and I got kicked out of my room sort of. I can't go anywhere
cause it's too snowy outside and driving anywhere isn't
worth it. I'm pretty tired too. Other things, um, my dog is doing
well. She's real nice. I've been reading more, but it's nothing special.
oh, I remember my dream last night now! Daniel was in it.
I was in sitting shotgun to my mom and I high fived him.
I stopped and talked to him and kui and some other people (?)
on the street. Also I went swimming or something, maybe with
astrid, and someone else too, but we had to stop cause
the tide was coming in really big and flooding erething. we had to go to
the car and leave or something. That's all I remember now.
A blog: http://hungoverowls.tumblr.com/
I wrote up a bunch of new years resolutions but don't
feel like reiterating them here. They're basically like be a better person.
something like that. Being back home is pretty healthy though.
I went ice skating with double d a n. it was fun. I really want to
drive jamie's car because that's cool, but he's back at school.....
lame. I'm cold. I'm going to go put on a um jacket. blog post done.
oh, I'll take a picture. I forgot I did that.

sorry it's been so long
but there wasn't really anything
you missed, at least I think?
I went to NYC for Thanksgiving.
Saw Kui, Jamie, George and got some
Quality time with Astrid's older brother
(also saw Astrid). I liked NYC but I
was definitely missing Wes some,
at least at first. Everyone is so nice there!
Jake and Frazer helped me find Astrid
and Rob in the subway- it was very sweet,
I really like that they were there looking
out for me, they are the best.
The parade was good and so was Thanksgiving
dinner. We played a lot of Mario Party.
I won once! Kui's dorm seemed like a nice place
to live. Too bad his school's getting in trouble
with all this drug stuff. We ate mangos
and made this fantastic apple pie. I really want
to make it sometime because it wasn't difficult
AT ALL! Perhaps I can for this weekend's potluck.
Speaking of food, back at Wes I have incorporated
a biweekly trip to Weshop (the campus grocery store)
into my schedule so I can see Keller there.
He's always glad to see me! And on Monday
Daniel was there too and we hugged and walked
back together. haha, I had been in an obnoxiously
good mood at the time, I have a feeling that as
we get closer to spring break that's going to be more
and more likely. Just because spring break I'm going
to GEORGIA!!!! with my favorite people from THROW!
it's going to be FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D
I just asked (told) my mom yesterday, and she said
it was cool. She did say that over spring break she's
planning to go to Barcelona for a conference, so
maybe dad and I could go too, and I'd fly out after
the tournament is done. I'm really glad I wouldn't
have to choose between the tournament and Spain
because right now I am pretty sure I would choose
the tournament... Spain is great and all, but a week
playing frisbee with throw is just too good.
We've never gone to High Tide before because
we've never had the numbers or the organization,
but almost 30 people want to go, which is great.
Actually a disproportionately large amount of girls
want to go, because we play with a 5:2 ratio-
5 guys and 2 girls on the field at once, and more
than 2/7 of the people going are girls. Jake said last
year he never would have believed that 1. we'd be
going to High Tide or 2. that we'd have too many
girls! I was talking to Keller and Jake on the google
doc, so they couldn't tell who I was, but Keller
totally guessed correctly (and called me kitty, lol).
When Jake was trying to figure out, Keller said,
who on throw would talk as much as anonymous is?
haha. I guess I do talk a lot. Because they're so
cool to talk to! We had a throw party last weekend,
which was a lot of fun. Jake (drunkenly) told me
how I was great because I was so dependable, and
we were hugging which made it nice. That's one of
my favorite things about parties is how you can
hug ALL the time! Dan's friend Steven convinced me
to help him drink some of his jungle juice, but it
was not delicious. It was pretty sugary, so a lot of
people got more drunk than they meant to, also
cause they played flip cup for like half an hour, haha.
we left at around 2 or 3. Gabe showed up and left early,
and frazer never came. I hung out with Gabe on
Saturday- we played the mandolin! I didn't realize it's
strung just like a violin is, which is awesome. I really
want to bring out my violin in the spring- that'd be cool.
About the spring semester, I'm looking forward to it,
but I am sad thinking about how seniors are leaving.
I know the only seniors I really spend time with are
Keller, Frazer and maybe Paul and molly, but they're
just such spectacular people. Also the juniors will
turn into seniors and then there's even more people
leaving. I mean, that's Jake, Dan, Gabe, Sam, Lizzie, Rob,
they're all great, but they're all stupid juniors. ugh.
Oh, I went Saturday to this show, sort of with Gabe,
and jake and dan and sam and nica and their friends were there
because a friend of theirs was in it. it was called Husk and was
student written/produced. it was good! just like like the musical
I saw last weekend, Charlie Greengould Meets Himself.
It was great. I ended up on fountain hanging out with
throw people, after I ran into them at the Japanther concert.
I entered, and Dan got this HUGE smile on his face,
which he says is because I was the last person he
would expect to go to that sort of concert. I just
went cause my hallmates went. I hung out with them
some and it wasn't very fun. They just don't care
about me and I don't really care about them. They
spent the whole time talking about being too high, etc.
By the end of the concert, they had all left but two,
and one was hooking up with some guy, and another
was going to go off to hang out with some other guys.
Actually that was two weekends ago. Last weekend, um.
not sure. ohhh, last weekend was thanksgiving.
the weekend before that was charlie greengould.
anyways that's what's up. Class is alright. Maybe
I'll come up with a better blog post idea later.
Plants are doing well. oh! I got this um
apple sour cream coffee cake for my class potluck
from the farmer's market. It's delicious. I'm going to
give it to throwbies or hallmates or something.
I've been cleaning my room more. Pablo comes in and
then I just get up and start cleaning. I need to do laundry.
I'm looking forward to break, to see my parents and such.
my dog! my car! all you guys out there =)
My travel plans are to get back the 18th, leave the 21st,
come back the 4th leave the 17th. so not too much time
in Iowa in december. Here's a picture of my hair in a
french braid I made last Thursday when working on
this soc paper that was due on Friday.

wednesday on time
Not much happened wednesday.
I went to my classes. oh! I went
to the farmer's market, borrowed
some money from oren, and got
a jar of strawberry jam. it is going
to be SO delicious. it just looks
fantastic. I would have shared it
with my am food class, but they
didn't have bread that wasn't
special that would go with jam.
In Am food we talked about our
paper topics and it was very very
lame because we took our break
about half an hour late which was
way too much class at one time.
Frisbee was fun, a bunch of freshmen
showed up, only lizzie, brian and jake
were the only nonfrosh, which was
alright, but not as cool. Tonight I'm
going to schedule my weshop run
to get more bread so that I'm there
during Keller's shift because I haven't
seen him all week! and it makes
sense. I think I'm also going to go to
gabe's show tonight so I can see
his lights, haha. it's a musical! about
a college guy and his doppelganger.
i can't go friday night, I could go
saturday night, but i'd rather go tonight.
we went to weswings for dinner after
practice and I got clam chowder
which I thought would be cream
based, but it was not and therefore
was disappointing. There is still
half an hour left in this class. ugh.
um, oh, frazer and I did the crossword,
but it was harder so we didn't finish
by my ta session and his bridge club
meeting. ta session was really short.
i rewrote it in the sci library and mom
wanted to vid chat, so I went back
and did that. there was a poetry
slam that oren was at, but it was
far away and I had to chat with my
mom. I kind of wish I went though, it
seems like it was really cool. my hall-
mates decided they're watching heroes
season one, and I want to watch
but I don't at the same time because
I remember how freaky and time wasting
it was. but i also remember it being awesome
but I can't quite remember why. maybe I'll
watch one with them sometime later.
I'm hungry. this post is out of information.
I've got to go pay attention and stop doing this.

Tuesday, actually one day late
Tuesday I slept through econ
because I stayed up too late on
Monday night writing my env stud
assignment. I wrote about GMOs and
how they would be bad. it was supposed
to be an op-ed like in a newspaper. I don't
think it was newspaper quality writing.
I didn't get my test back then though,
because i didn't go. Env studies was
boring. I was in a photo shoot for my
am food class! The admissions people
wanted to put us in the next view book,
cause our class is so cool. It was sort of
awkward, but funny. I wore my pink shirt
with the cutout in the back with bows.
maybe in the final picture it'll show.
we got to stand around awkwardly.
I'm in env studies right now, and the
guy next to me is watching the Goal of
the year nominee for lacrosse. it's
very intense. i don't really get it.
because I can't see the video quite well.
oh, here's another one. he has really
long eyelashes. like really long. it's cool.
I ate lunch with people in my food class
and actually ran into Gabe and Frazer
who ended up eating with us later. I
don't know what we talked about. I went
to the '92 theater to help Gabe out with
his lighting stuff because he is not
supposed to be there working alone. I
got some stuff done maybe, and got to
push some buttons and stuff, so it was fun.
nate came along and I went to frisbee, but
no one was there except paul (sad) and
so I went back and hung out some more.
I grabbed some summerfield's dinner,
a really good quesadilla, and went to
landscaping meeting. There was more
cider, this time it was better. it was sweeter
maybe. more appley. less blatantly
alcoholic, haha. I'm helping out with things
for our event in a couple weeks. hope it
comes together alright. i'm not listening
to anything my prof is saying. he's talking
about nuclear reactors? I think? whatever.
I'll pay attention next slide. after landscaping
I think I just hung out and got stuff done.
maybe. or I fell asleep. I don't remember.
Oh, I think i talked to some people. oh!
I ended up talking to Pablo from my hall
because he came and started talking to me.
I wasn't a very good talking partner cause
I was talking to people on gchat at the same
time. he wanted to talk about classes and
then he talked about how college boys are
immature and he is the counter example.
eventually he wanted to talk about more
serious things, like how he's not fitting in
and such. It's nice that he's comfortable
enough to talk to me about that sort of thing,
but we're not really friends? He doesn't like
environmentalism. it annoys him. he thinks
it's inevitable or something like that. Frazer
said that was cynical and that he couldn't
imagine me being a cynic because I'm
too optimistic. I don't remember being
optimistic around him. at least not incredibly
obviously optimistic. Maybe I just can't
remember. After more than an hour I kicked
Pablo out and looked up things for my
Am Food class where I had to write a
research paper proposal for later.
oh! on monday while I was looking things
up I found this website called "meatless monday"
and I thought I'd do it. I pledged to not
eat meat on mondays and since I pledged
it I can't take it back. It was too late for that
day, honey ginger chicken sandwich at
weswings. so I didn't eat meat on tuesday.
well, that's about it for tuesday I think.

Monday, three days late.
I am so behind!!
Monday nothing happened. I'm pretty sure.
I went to sociology. Frisbee we played box
with two boxes because we only had about
10 people. it was fun. after I stayed around
and tossed/talked with jake, brian and sydney,
and then I ended up having dinner with Brian
at weswings. it was delicious. we talked
about grinnell. oh, I also ended up going
over to Frazer's house because I had this
thing I was supposed to be writing for Tues
and he had to do his problem sets for his
math classes. I was actually a good influence;
he did some of his work, more than he would
have if I hadn't gone over. We ended up
doing the crossword which was fun. I just
really remember laughing a lot for no
reason. I got to meet his house mates. We
were in his kitchen and alex roy came and
gave me some of his chicken snow pea pasta.
alex is nicer than people give him credit for.
Frazer's room is a mess and I don't like that.
it doesn't have anything on the walls and
there's trash and it's a mess. it's bad. if I had
spent more than a minute in there I would have
started cleaning it. Besides that, nothing else
happened that seems important or that I can
remember.
